In what began with Safe Haven Sunday in February of 2021, we are excited to continue this project with our regional Fight Against Pornography. Pornography is an evil industry that the evil one is using to blind God’s children from the mercy and light of Christ. We cannot stand for this, we cannot let the evil one have this victory. Let us go courageously into battle with Christ to destroy this plague that is impacting too many individuals and families.
As a parish, we commit to walking this journey with you—you do not have to walk it alone. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or would like to talk to the priests of WWPR.
We will be adding helpful content and resources to this page for you and the various ways that pornography impacts families and individuals—whether you are striving to protect your children from their first exposure, your children have already been exposed, or you yourself struggle with an addiction. If you weren’t able to pick up a copy of Equipped please let us know as we have extras. Either way, you can still sign up for Safe Haven Sunday’s 7 day email challenge by texting SECURE to 66866. Please know of our prayers!

Good Pictures Bad Pictures by Kristen A. Jenson
This is a great book for developing a second nature drill for young children when they come across explicit content. Great for 7-year-olds.
The Body Matters program from the Theology of the Body Evangelization Team (TOBET)
A great recommendation from a WWPR parishioner: “The books are for preschool up through 8th grade. They are really simple and easy to work through. They set the stage beautifully for the big difficult conversations that will come as kids start to understand unhealthy cultural influences.”
Wonderfully Made! Babiesby Ellen Giangiordano
Written at the 4th great level, this is an age appropriate and Theology of the Body approved book to help parents have the sexual education talk with their kids. The natural curiosity that comes with puberty is one of the major points of exposure to pornography for our young people. This book is a great resource to have the conversation and control where their curiosity leads them—back to their parents with questions rather than online search engines.
