The Archbishop has appointed Fr. Alex McCullough as the new pastor of the Region beginning February 1. He is currently parochial vicar at St. Ignatius in Monfort Heights. A native Cincinnatian from St. Bernard, Fr. McCullough has significant ties to the Winton Wyoming region. His grandfather was from Wyoming, and raised his family in Greenhills. Fr. McCullough attended St. Clement grade school, then Covington Latin School, and completed undergraduate studies at Christendom College in Front Royal, Virginia. He did his seminary training at Mt. St. Mary’s of the West here in Cincinnati and was ordained in 2016. On a personal note, he enjoys cooking and playing golf. He also plays banjo and guitar in his free time. A Note From Fr. McCullough: I’m excited to become WWPR’s pastor for many reasons. When a young man begins formation as a diocesan priest, the discernment and training process is always geared towards being a shepherd of souls, specifically as a pastor. I won’t say that this is the fulfillment of that journey, because I recognize that we are called to a lifelong process of discernment, growth, and conversion as we live out our vocations. We will never run out of ways that we can grow as a parish community, but I’m incredibly excited to dive in and be part of your community, as we all strive to be the disciples that God is calling us to be. I’ve been very touched by the comments, thoughts, and prayers that the parishes have sent, and the first thing that I want everyone to know is that I’ve been praying for you as well, before I was assigned, and even before I was ordained. God bless you all, and I look forward to meeting you soon!
