After many meetings between myself, Fr. Rudolfo, and the interested parties representing the Archdiocese, and more importantly between all of us and the members of the Latino Community at San Carlos, it has been decided that their community will be exploring other options for the future of their parish. Fr. Rudolfo in particular asked that I express the deep gratitude of his flock towards OLR and Winton Wyoming parishioners for welcoming them while we were exploring this option. Unfortunately, many members of the community have concerns about traveling outside of their neighborhoods, and we had seen increasing resistance to attending events outside of the City of Cincinnati proper.
Held on Sunday, June 3 around 12:15 pm, the procession will begin immediately following the 11:30 am Mass. Participants will process from Our Lady of the Rosary and around the Greenhills Commons (the grassy field in front of the Church) carrying the Blessed Sacrament in a monstrance. We will stop to pray at the gazebo before concluding with Benediction in the church. All first Communicants are invited to process in their first Communion clothes. For information contact: Deacon Matt Skinner 513-207-3685 or [email protected].
In Pope Benedict’s first Pentecost address as the Holy Father, he spoke of the importance of more than careful planning or instinctive reaction when we see a need, but rather the necessity of prayer before we make important decisions. “The Lord certainly does ask for our collaboration, but before any other response his initiative is necessary: his Spirit is the true protagonist of the Church. The roots of our being and of our action are in the wise and provident silence of God.” The lesson of Pentecost is that God doesn’t want our hard work and our mer-its, but rather he wants us to cooperate with the gift of the Holy Spirit that he sends down upon each of us. We will accomplish more working with God than we ever could on our own, and in this way we are called to bear fruit that will last. PLEASE CLICK TITLE TO READ MORE

These past few weeks we have had the opportunity to reflect on the central mystery of our Faith: Jesus’ death and resurrection. Now that we celebrate His going forth from us to the Father, we reflect on our mission to go out into the world and make disciples of all nations. Next week we will celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit being poured out on the Church, equipping us with the graces we need to live out this call in our lives. As we draw to the end of this Easter season, may we always ask God to pour out His Holy Spirit upon us and fill us with zeal for carrying out the mission of spreading the Gospel, making disciples, and becoming saints. May is celebrated as the month of Mary in the Church, and it’s a beautiful opportunity for each of us to draw near to Our Lord by approaching Him through His Blessed Mother. Fr. Lambert’s monthly Marian celebrations are an important tool we offer to grow in devotion to the Blessed Mother, but there are many other options out there. In addition to the Rosary, there are many novenas, consecrations to the Blessed Mother, and scriptural meditations to help us enter into these mysteries. During this month, we would all do well to examine the role which the Mother of our Savior plays in our life, and then see how we can grow closer to her, and through her intercession come to know and love her Son more deeply each day.
